The Martyr’s Moon Rises!

martyrsmoonfrontcoverMartyr’s Moon, the second installment of the four-volume, epic War of Whispers fantasy series by J.E. Lowder, is set for release on February 19, 2013 from WordCrafts Press. Martyr’s Moon picks up where Tears of Min Brock left off, plunging the reader headlong into the adventures of Elabea, a young girl of 14 summers who follows the call of a whisper from the shining land of Claire; a kingdom that was supposedly destroyed in the devastating Dark War. Outcast from her family and village, and guarded by her impetuous childhood friend, Romlin, Elabea’s epic quest to become one of the most powerful beings in the world – a storyteller – is thwarted by seemingly insurmountable obstacles, unspeakable tragedy and even her own fragile faith in a whisper that might offer more than the oppressive drone from the Dark Cauldron.

Tears of Min Brock, the first volume of the quadrilogy, met with both critical and popular acclaim, and has fans have clamored for the sequel.

“Lowder pulls you into a world of chaos and hope. You can almost feel the breeze and smell the foliage as you walk with the main characters through this well written story. I give it far more than the usual five stars!” says book blog site, Opus ‘n’ Pen.

“J. E. Lowder has created an intricate fantasy world full of despair and darkness as well as hope and luminous beauty,” says Examiner.com.

“Fasten your seat belts,” declares Vic’s Media Room. “This is going to be a wild, exciting ride!”

A professional musician by trade, Lowder is no stranger to the creative process. He has played bass for some of the biggest names in the music industry, including country superstar Shania Twain. He credits his time as a musician with giving him the inspiration and stamina to embark on a career as a novelist.

“I have always made up bedtime stories for my kids, but I didn’t become serious about the craft of writing, of storytelling, until about ten years ago, ” Lowder explains. “I’d suffered a crisis of faith and was struggling through life when friends suggested I journal. I discovered that when I journal, it becomes a story. I remember being on tour as a musician in Europe, taking in the view from atop Edinburgh Castle in Scotland or gazing upon the armory in the Tower of London. I was unknowingly gathering material I’d use years later when writing the War of Whispers series.”

Tears of Min Brock is available now in trade paperback and all popular ebook formats. Martyr’s Moon, Volume 2 of the War of Whispers, hits the shelves in both trade paperback and ebook formats on February 19.
