Paula K. Parker has been writing as long as she can remember. With a poet father, writer mother, and a story-teller grandmother, she has always been comfortable in the world of words. Early training in music and theater led Paula to a life-long love for the arts. This passion eventually brought her to Nashville, TN, where she – along with her writer husband, Mike – helped establish Carpenter’s Playhouse and LampLighter’s Theatre.

A stint in the public schools, along with seventeen years of home schooling their five children has resulted in not only a quick wit and a unique sense of humor, but also the ability to effectively communicate ideas on a wide range of subjects.

Since 1995, Paula has been a professional writer, and has contributed more than 1000 articles personality profiles, CD, DVD, movie, book, and theatrical reviews to such national publications as Christian Single, Christian Health, Disney’s Family Fun, Living with Teenagers, ParentLife, Clarity, Release Ink, PB&J, Profile, Bible Express, and HomeLife magazines. She contributed commentary to Thomas Nelson’s award-winning Bible-zine, Real, and to the #1 New York Times Best-Seller, Becoming. Online she has written for Crosswalk.com and is presently a contributing writer for the entertainment page at LifeWay.com and serves as Editor for the online entertainment magazine, BuddyHollywood.com.

Paula contributed to Steve Arterbern’s Young Believer’s Case File and is putting the finishing touches on her first children’s picture book, Slow Love. As an accomplished playwright, Paula has written numerous short sketches, One-Acts and full-length plays. She is best known for The Sam Jones Story, a historical play commissioned by Nashville’s Summer Lights Foundation. She has adapted several classic works for the stage including and authorized adaptation of Barbara Robinson’s Best School Year Ever and Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. In honor of the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible, Paula and NY Times best-selling author GP Taylor co-wrote “YHWH The Flood the Fish and The Giant; Ancient Mysteries Retold” (Authentic Media).

When not writing, Paula enjoys an empty nest, helping Mike renovating their vintage 1927 home, heading up the makeup department for Lamplighter’s Theatre, and fulfilling a lifelong ambition of learning to play the harp.
