Shanda Perkins

Acquistions Editor

A Florida native, Shanda Perkins played Baby Jesus when she was three months old and hasn’t stopped being creative since. She sang before she could talk, and started writing songs before she knew to how spell the lyrics correctly. In high school, she was blessed to be mentored by regional writer Poke McHenry and has always loved a good mystery. Her studies have taken her from Florida to Tennessee, where she was nominated for the William J. Connelly prize at MTSU for excellence in student writing at the upper-division level.

Shanda has won two BroadwayWorld Nashville awards for best costume design (for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and The Music Man), has sung background in various videos and television performances for artists such as Andrae Crouch, Cece Winans, Dottie Rambo, and Reba McIntyre, and as a lyricist, had several songs recorded including one which was used on the television programs Dancing with the Stars and The Amazing Race. As a writer, she has had the opportunity to write, edit, and proofread numerous inspirational, devotional, and non-fiction books, and is currently working on an original short-story collection.
